Now that the warm weather is out in most of the country. This means more constrictions zones. So please remember some of the rules.
TRIP PLANNING – Plan trips around work zones when possible.
AVOID DISTRACTIONS – When traveling through work zones, keep your focus on driving…not the radio, not the beverage in the cupholder, not your phone.
REDUCE SPEED – Work zones often mean reduced speeds, lane shifts, narrow and uneven pavement, and workers.
LANE CLOSURES – Move into the open lane as soon as possible. Always look twice to be sure the lane is clear before you move.
SAFE FOLLOWING – Maintain a safe 7 second following distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
EXPECT DELAYS – Don’t get impatient. Don’t give in to road rage. Share Work Zones safely.
LARGE TRUCKS ARE INVOLVED IN 1/3 OF ALL FATAL CRASHES IN WORK ZONES.
