Stay alert! Road closures due to construction are happening.

Be informed and stay safe on the road.

Your role on the roads is vital, and we want to ensure you are safe and well-informed. Here's an important reminder: pay attention to streets closed and blocked due to construction!

👷 Construction work is necessary to improve our roads and ensure everyone's safety. However, to avoid delays and accidents, it is crucial that you are aware of the affected areas. Here are some tips to help you:

1️⃣ Plan your route in advance: check for planned construction work on your path before starting your journey. Use updated traffic apps to get information about closures and detours.

2️⃣ Pay attention to signs: observe traffic signs and specific construction warnings. They will provide information about alternative routes and possible restrictions.

3️⃣ Reduce your speed: when approaching a construction area, slow down to ensure your safety and that of the workers involved.

4️⃣ Maintain distance: keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. This will provide adequate reaction time in case there is a need to stop suddenly.

5️⃣ Be prepared for detours: construction work may require you to follow alternative routes. Be ready to adjust your course and follow the indicated detour instructions.

Beginning Wednesday July 14th 21st St / 7th Ave in the city of Newport will close in the southbound direction between 1st Ave and 20th St.

Northbound traffic will be maintained. Access to Wilson Lines is ONLY via Hwy 61 @Glen Rd.

Traffic into yard will be turning right into parking lot. Trucks must go left around buildings.

Traffic leaving will turn right out of parking lot to access i494 and follow north towards Bailey Rd to access Hwy 61, etc.

We remind you that the safety of everyone on the roads depends on us. By paying attention to streets closed and blocked due to construction, you contribute to the flow of traffic and avoid accidents.

Drive with care, stay alert, and arrive at your destination safely!
